This week I received three different packages from three different places that I had been expecting for a while. I’ll try to write stuff up about each of these soon but, like the Sac-Anime audio I promised to post, I’m not promising anything. (About the interviews, I might just eschew transcripts and put them all in a single post.) But back to the topic at hand…

First: the Excel Saga Imperfect Collection from Best Buy. While I was home during winter break, I ordered this from an in-store kiosk for $18 (thanks to the CAG forums) because 1) it wasn’t being stocked anywhere anymore ever since the Thinpak Collection was released and 2) the kiosk prices can be much lower than what’s online. Now I have two copies of Volume 1 which isn’t a problem but still a little annoying.

Second: the FLCL Ultimate Collection from Right Stuf. I preordered this back in late October to save about $17; it was supposed to ship on November 21 but then was delayed until December 26 and once more to the final definitive date of January 5th. I previously didn’t have the series on DVD but had seen it many times on cable.

Finally: the Honey and Clover movie from CDJapan. This was my first Region 2 purchase and the main reason I got it was because it has English subtitles (so I can understand it…) as well as a bonus features disc. However, most of my future import purchases might be music CDs because importing DVDs would start to add up quickly.

  2. I was real close to buying the Honey and Clover dvd from cdjapan. Was there anything else that came with the dvd? Some special “first shipment”-only type thing? Though I finally just saw it a few days ago, I may still get it.

  3. Os: There were no pack-in extras such as keychains and the stuff on the second disc — press conferences, making of, etc. — has no English subtitles to go with them. Hope that somewhat aids you in making a decision.

  4. Wait, all six volumes for $18?! Is that deal still being offered…?

  5. “Never Knows Best” Bracelet FTW!!! ^_^
